Melkote Manja Movie Review

The film has old school narration with a mix of action, romance and comedy, and even the special cameo in the end. This also has some spoofs that are predictable, like Nithyananda for instance. The first half is entertaining, while the climax seems too rushed and force-fitted. Jaggesh is delightfully funny. Aindrita Ray looks good and does justice to her casting. Go ahead, watch this if you have missed the vintage Jaggesh capers.

The story is not complex and most of the pre-interval part is a comic take on the life of Manja. There is a sentimental twist after that and a regular potboiler of a film later. The film slows down a bit in the second half due to the prolonged focus on a single issue and soon hurtles towards a predictable climax. There are a couple of good tunes he has set. The background score is another job well done. A little innovation in the plot in the second half would have done a world of good.

On the technical front there is good music and photography which Jaggesh uses to the advantage of the narrative. Melkote Manja is a good film for the family audience as well as youngsters who want to have a good outing at the theatres. Do not miss the fun ride that shows the experience of its maker. Jaggesh plays Manja, who is from Melukote. He tries his hand at many businesses and fails in all of them. He drives up a lot of debt from several people in the town. He is so deep in debt that he has to hide from the people who have loaned him is always in fear of being caught by him.
